A Roger Goodell dapper stood at the podium with boos raining down on him from the fans at the Radio City Music Hall.
The chants began: "we want football." We want football! ?
Goodell, dressed in a blue suit, kept his cool, managed a smile and a response with "" me, too."
The singing continued. The Commissioner of the NFL kept smiling.
"I hear you."
So he went to Goodell early in a project which began a day after a federal judge ordered the NFL to lift the lockout and a few hours after the League said players could report to the headquarters of the team begins Friday.
The only way that Goodell could reduce to silence the draftniks was asking a moment of silence to remember the victims of the storm that ripped through the South on Wednesday.
Goodell was generally a popular Commissioner among fans, mainly rented to impose strict discipline to players.
In many respects, its night of project was not different from his previous four years as Commissioner, has allowed the players of the League. But anyone could hear that it was different.
He had huées and songs when he announced the project was opened for business and even more when he called name of Cam Newton as the first choice for the Carolina Panthers.
He welcomed the quaterback Auburn with a handshake and a hug, and both had their photographs taken on the basis of a Carolina Panthers Jersey with the No. 1 on it.

Von Miller of Texas A & M was the only prospect of project among the plaintiffs in the action. He said no there is no awkwardness between him and Goodell when it is selected, promising to give the Commissioner a hug.
This is exactly what Miller did after being drafted No. 2 overall by the Denver Broncos.
Goodell praised Miller walked on the scene and broke into a broad smile, and the two kiss a cuddly bear this last about 10 seconds.
"I never had nothing against Roger Goodell." I just want to make sure you football continues to be played, "said Miller. "When I came across the stage, I met the Commissioner - that he was."
"The reason why I entered this thing does was not because of the fame, not because of advertising." I entered this thing to represent the guys who came before me and broke back. "I wanted to ensure that football continues to be played".
It was all smiles at the draft, but not all the current players were happy to see the Commissioner is love so many conscripts.
"It is really confusing for me to see these young guys hugging the Commissioner with everyone who went over the past months," Packers running back Ryan Grant posted on his Twitter account.
The NFL is back to business as usual. Goodell said earlier in the day, that he feared that the fight could last for some time.
"I think that the dispute, unfortunately, may continue for a certain period of time", he told the NFL Network.
He said he was looking forward to the next round of talks court ordered on May 16.
"I think it is important to get back to that," he said. "It's the kind of thing should happen - real bargaining table."
The boos continued throughout the first round, although they were not nearly as noisy that choices have come off the coast of the Commission.
And not all fans were so difficult on Goodell. At least not when they had a chance to get up close to him.
Before the draft, Goodell mingled with fans in the lobby of the Radio City Music Hall. Some even pose for photographs with the man many consider the face of lockout.
