Riley provides motivational talks to heat players

BOSTON - Pat Riley knows playing the crucial playoff against the Boston Celtics and how to motivate the players.

With pivotal game 4 of Miami Heat at hand and the team trying to recover from poor performance in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinal series, the Hall of Famer was this experience and skills to use with his team Monday.

Riley, the President of the heat, had private conversations with several players on the merits after the shootaround team at TD Garden. Players said Riley was about the historical relevance of the current series and transmission of stories for motivation.

"He is a master of the moment," said Dwyane Wade. "When you get to talk to someone who has been in these battles and to understand the psyche of this person, you respect." He has given me lot of knowledge about the game. ?

Lutté Riley against the Celtics as coach of the Lakers in Los Angeles in three different NBA final in the 1980s, creating some of the most memorable games of the playoffs in NBA history. Players said stories these days made an impression on them in another struggle of the playoffs.

"We just just discussed on the situation, about the series and the story," LeBron James said of his time with Riley Monday.

"That man has much history, it has been in a lot of game 4 s, 3 s games, game 7 s. He saw all know. It's a huge game for us and we are going to approach it. I have great respect for the history of the game. I know exactly what Pat was through series with Boston. ?
