Smith of Minnesota said that he had cancer; now free

MINNEAPOLIS - Coach Minnesota Tubby Smith says he is "feeling great" free prostate cancer after dealing with the disease for the past year.

The University has published a statement by Smith, on Wednesday. 59 Year-old had not already disclosed its State.

He underwent surgery at the clinic of Mayo in Rochester, Minnesota, April 21, to contain and remove the cancer, said Mr. Smith. He said physical biopsy and subsequent routine last spring showed an early stage of prostate cancer.

Smith, said he is recognizing his doctor at the clinic and that he "cannot wait" for the next season.

Smith fourth year with the Gophers was his most disappointing, stopping in his 17 seasons series straight 20 - win.
