COLUMBIA, MO. - the battle in Missouri holds Blaine occupying as quarterback replacement is complete. His younger brother, Tyler, has decided to transfer.
Coach Gary Pinkel, said Monday that freshman redshirt Tyler Gabbert left, ending the competition with sophomore James Franklin to succeed Blaine occupying as signal-caller to the Tigers.
Both players entered spring practice with what the coaches called an equal drawee on starting work. Franklin was high at the top of the chart depth entering in the fall after a stronger performance in the spring game.
He completed 13 of 21 passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns, while occupant ends 8 22 for only 48 yards and one interception of the game.
"We wish Tyler and will make all our possible to help in the future," said Pinkel. "It has worked very hard in our program of this last year, and we thank him for his efforts."
Sophomore Ashton Glaser will become the quarterback No. 2, with freshman QB Corbin Berkstresser arriving in the fall.
Since the occupying last week spoke warmly to journalists from a schema of summer training involving throwing sessions with return of T.J. Moe and Wes Kemp receptors. He could not immediately be reached for comment Monday.
Franklin, a 6-foot-2, 225 - pound preparation star Dallas, saw duty limited in 2010 as occupying Blaine backup. He rushed 23 times for 116 yards and two touchdowns while completing 11 of 14 passes for a score.
Tyler Gabbert, who played football in school to the school of St. Louis suburbs even as his elder brother, initially clerk in Nebraska before moving to Missouri.
Occupying Blaine, a two-year starter made in Missouri, who left school after his junior year and was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 10 overall choose less than two weeks ago. Tyler Gabbert joined his elder brother in New York for the project.
