PARIS - Marin Cilic became the first player seeded to be eliminated, losing French open against Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo of the Spain, 7-6 (5), 6-4, 6-4, Sunday in the first round.
The seeds of the 19th Cilic, who reached the fourth round at the Open of Australia, is a former top 10 player. But he had 67 errors not forced in the game and was broken five times.
Ramirez Hidalgo received only its fourth win in 15 Grand slam tournaments. Upon reaching the fourth round at the Open of France 2006, more than the Spanish lost the first round in each of its 13 other appearances to four major tennis tournaments.
