St. Petersburg, Fla. - it unbeaten Angels of Los Angeles Jered Weaver was scratched from his start scheduled Sunday against Tampa Bay.
The Weaver for his seventh victory bid may be delayed one day because of a stomach virus. Los Angeles Manager, Mike Scioscia is confident that Weaver will be able to start the game of Monday night in Boston.
"If it was the seventh game of the world series, I think that you would see him out there trying to pitch," Scioscia said before the angels beat rays 6-5. "He had some IV put in and I think that more a day to get fluids in him and he should be good to go.".
Weaver is 6-0 with a 0.99 ERA in six starts this season. He has been sick for a few days.
"I myself am sick," said Weaver. "I feel well today."
Tyler Chatwood replaced Weaver, who has exercised pressures in vain Scioscia height against the rays.
"After we have obtained the advice of the Medical Department, he had a 0.0% [chance]," Scioscia said. "I believe in the big picture here, one day will be absorbed and forgotten.
