Curry of the Warriors WINS NBA sportsmanship award

NEW YORK - Stephen Curry of Golden State Warriors won the Joe Dumars trophy, presented to NBA player who is best embodies the spirit of sport.


Curry received 88 one first place vote 347 players possible. Luol Deng of the Chicago Bulls was second with 84 votes and LaMarcus Aldridge of Portland was third with 56.


The NBA announced Thursday that it will make a donation of $10,000 for Curry to Habitat for humanity is Bay, which uses volunteers to build affordable housing for families.


Each team has appointed a player for the award, and a group of former players has selected six divisional winners. The other nominees were D.J. Augustin of Charlotte, Deron Williams of the New Jersey and San Antonio George Hill.


The NBA will donate $ 5,000 for each player to a charity of their choice.
