Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has surgery in Chicago on Monday for the second time in the past 15 months.
Peyton Manning may be 35 and come off the coast of his second surgery, but the four time MVP is still a stable presence for the Colts, written Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com. Blog
Manning said the Indianapolis Star Tuesday that the procedure was "minimally invasive" and said it expects to become "a quick recovery."
Manning, 35, had surgery at the Hospital of Chicago even in March 2010 to mitigate the problems caused by a pinched nerve for about four years.
The MVP of the NFL four times told The Star that operation Monday treated a completely separate question. Manning said this surgery now revolved around a question related to disk in his neck which had recently created a discomfort.
"There is ample time to recovery," Manning told The Star, referring to the lockout that is now in its third month.
Manning is one of the ten current players named in an antitrust trial against the National Football League.
Colts owner Jim Irsai, authorized to communicate with Manning in the present case, confirmed the surgery at NFL Tuesday meetings.
"It is usually a payback period of six to eight weeks," Irsai said. "I think that it's one that you can bounce go quickly."
Irsai, said the quarterback has communicated with the team and its doctors before heading to Chicago for the operation.
"Now is the time to do so, the end of may," Irsai reasoned. "There has been more difficult than this before things."
Before the adoption of owners lockout, the Colts placed their tag exclusive franchise on Manning, to tie the team for the 2011 season. If he plays under the tag the next season, Manning would be made about $ 23 million.

"He has a great chance to play five years," said Irsai. "It is such a man, takes care of him and really, really works hard."
"I feel well about it." This affects the way in which I (a new contract). ?
Still, Irsai suggested that quarterbacks backup manning will be more throw in training camp and much action in the pre-season - see if the lockout ends in time to play these games.
"It's like a baseball," said Irsai. "You want to limit the pleas that he takes." "But I think that it will be good to go for the preseason games."
In 13 seasons, Manning broke all records for quarterbacks Colts career and has never missed a start. He took Indy for series 11 times, captured seven AFC South titles in eight years, has won two Championships of the AFC, a Super Bowl title and a Super Bowl's MVP.
And the Colts won several games in the regular season in a period of ten years (115) than any team in NFL history.
