London - Boxer of the former Henry Cooper, one of sports most popular in Britain, who was known to knock down Muhammad Ali, while he was still known as Cassius Clay, died Sunday. He was 76.

Cooper floored Ali, then a candidate for the promising future named Clay, in a fight not for the title of 1963 at Wembley.
"I am at a loss for words on the death of my friend, Henry Cooper," Ali said Sunday night. "I was unaware that he was sick." I visited with him two summers ago during a brief visit to Windsor in keeping it y of the Equestrian Games. He is in good humour and seemed entirely appropriate. Henry always had a smile for me. a warm smile and embracing in the. It is always a pleasure to be in the company of Henry. Will miss me my friend ole. "It was a great Hunter and a gentleman".
