Bubba Watson leads Zurich Classic

Mother of Bubba Watson knew better.

Only play the Zurich Classic of New - Orleans because his mother, Molly, spoke to him in her because she wanted to watch him play, Watson shot a 4-under 68 in the change of the conditions of wind Friday to take a one - stroke on Josh Teater advance after the second round at TPC Louisiana.

"Mom knew I was going to play well enough the first two rounds," said Watson, playing four hours drive from his hometown of Baghdad, Fla., "we have two other go, but it is so good."

Watson, the winner of Torrey Pines late January, had a 10-under 134 total on Pete Dye-designed course - a provision that he do not think that adapts his game.

"For me, it's difficult," said Watson. "There were many shots difficult tee for me." Many times s water on the left for me be left-handed. "It is difficult to overcome, but somehow I it am overcome now.".

The Watson hit long eagled the 11th by-5 - his second hole of the round - for the second time, categories a 20 footer to get to 8 below. Added a putt of 4-foot birdie on 13 and a foot of page 13 14, he bogeyed the 18th when he hit his third shot on the green of a bunker. It also birdied the seventh with a 3 footer.

"You are not sure that that the wind of the fact on a few holes," said Watson, who has failed to win three times previous, was the head of 36 holes. "So you're always look and try to see what happens how to play the hole."

Teater shot a 66, dropping two strokes with a double bogey on the 18th by-5. His approach shot with a 177-yard 6-iron sailed right and bounced into the water guarding the green. His fifth shot ran 22 feet past the hole and he has two row for double bogey.

"It was on a slope," Teater said on his third shot. "And I don't know if my club just got blocked, but I was trying to hit the it left of the flag and the middle of the Green, and he turned right on me.".

John Rollins was 8 below after a 69.

"I played for two days," says Rollins. "I hit the ball well and gave me lots of opportunities." Therefore, I have to be there where I am very pleased and we'll see how the week. ?

Dean Wilson matched the record with a 64 to join John Senden (67), Jason Dufner (69), Matt Jones (71) and Webb Simpson (69) at 7 under. Simpson counted guard star Hornets Chris Paul among his gallery.

Wilson missed a chance to break the record of course on the by-3 ninth, his closing hole, when his tee shot landed short and right of the green.

"The Pete Dye course are so demanding," said Wilson. "Then, when you have 20 mph wind, it is really difficult." It does give you no rescue plan. ?

Steve Stricker (68), David Mathis (68) and Tommy Gainey (71) were 6 below.

Luke Donald survived a group 5 slot after a 71. He lost a match last week at Hilton Head, missing a chance to jump from No. 3 No. 1 in the world.

Vijay Singh made the cut by a stroke after a 74 with a 68 to get to 2 below.

David Duval, Rory Sabbatini, winner of Hilton Head Brandt Snedeker, Justin Rose and John Daly missed the cut. Duval opened with a 67, but double-bogeyed the second hole on a front-nine 42-79.
